Poker
It is played worldwide, but in some places the rules may vary.
Objective:
Players take turns in a clockwise direction, betting on the strength of their hand, and either fold, call, or raise to continue in the game, with the objective of having the highest-ranking hand at the end of the final betting round to win the pot.
Rank of hands:
A hand is ranked within its category using the, ranks, of its cards. Individual cards are ranked, from highest to lowest: A, K, Q, J, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3 and 2.
History:
Many game scholars point to the French game, Poque, and the Persian game, As-Nas, as possible early inspirations.
